What are the classifications of brass?

Brass can be classified into common brass, lead brass, zinc brass, nickel silver brass and other types.

1. Common brass

Common brass refers to a yellow metal material made of copper with a small amount of zinc, lead, nickel and other metals added. This brass has good forgeability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and is widely used in the manufacture of machine parts, metal materials for construction and other fields.

2. Lead brass

Lead brass contains a high lead element, has good cutting and wear resistance, and is widely used in the manufacture of friction parts such as bearings and oil plugs.

3. Zinc brass

Zinc brass refers to a brass material made by adding zinc as an alloy element to copper. This copper has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and is widely used in construction, manufacturing electrical parts and other aspects.

4. Nickel silver brass

Nickel silver brass is a high-grade brass material containing elements such as silver and nickel, and has excellent performance in hardness, corrosion resistance, toughness and other aspects. Therefore, this material is widely used in the manufacture of high-end precision instruments such as instruments, clocks, and musical instruments.

In general, brass is classified according to its composition and use. In engineering practice, appropriate brass material should be selected according to specific working conditions.
